The Fourth Annual Boxer Rebellion Fashion Show

San Francisco, May 9, 2007 – The Ant Show, a bay area local showcase for musicians, will be presenting their fourth annual “Boxer Rebellion” Fashion Show on Friday, May 9, at 8 pm. The event will feature the work of four local artists, expressing their creativity through the unique medium of men’s and women’s underwear. The designers and models will share the limelight with four up-and-coming San Francisco bands, lending an urban and diverse flavor to the proceedings.

The designers on hand will be fashion designer Vintage Joy, painter/illustrator Cara Barnard, multimedia artist Dan Gallagher and urban artist Improperazzi, and Art designer Mei Lin. Live music will be performed by local favorites Ghost To Atom, The Papersons, The Catholic Comb and Murder of Lilies. Dj Steena Lynn will enliven the evening with a healthy dose of electro-pop , making sure that the crowd won’t miss the chance to strut their stuff as well.

Tin Fan conceived the idea in 2005, says the event is meant to be a slightly different take on the traditional fashion show. “Artists, fashion designers, and musicians are all part of the San Francisco artistic community, but they rarely get an opportunity to come together and create something unique,” Fan says. “Bringing rock, fashion, and art together is not only a great chance for local creative folks to get some exposure, it’s a lot of fun as well.”

The models gracing the runway will personify this eclectic vision. Some are full-time models, while others are musicians and artists. And though expectations of a sexy and fun evening will be met, those looking for traditional, paper-thin models might be surprised to see their Amoeba-shopping, Mission-dwelling peers on the runway, too.

The Red Devil Lounge is located at 1695 Polk St. in San Francisco . A percentage of the proceeds will fund breast cancer research.
